Wow. Two posts in one day! Go me!
I want to start a new feature called "What I Am Burning Today". I'm mostly doing this as kind of a candle diary for myself. And maybe a review for people who are seeking info for specific scents. I have a notebook of all the tarts and votives that I burn. I like to write notes about how they smell and how strong they are so that I can decide if I want to buy that particular scent in a large jar. I like to look back and see what was going on in my little world when I chose to melt that scent so it's like a diary. At the top of each page I put the label of the tart on the page so I will have a visual reference of that scent. Here I will just include pictures of the jars as I am burning them.
Today I'm burning Lemon Zest. Yankee currently has this one back as a returning Treasure during SAS and I wanted to see how much I like it and if I want to buy another one. My current jar is a 2014 pour and is about half gone. I haven't burned it since last year. I remember burning it a lot in January along with Blueberry Muffin and really enjoying both of them together. Today I'm doing Lemon Zest by itself.
Pooling time - 4-5 hours without a cozy. This one seemed to take a long time to pool. I've been burning it since 7:30 this morning and it's just now getting a decent pool. (It's currently about in the afternoon) I've added a cozy to it to see if I can get it deeper. I think a deep pool makes a better throw.
Scent - is just okay. I really don't think it smells like true lemon. If I closed my eyes and didn't know what scent it was supposed to be I would be able to tell it was a lemon one, but to me it's got a lot of bakery notes in it. There's some cakiness in it. The overall scent is robust and fruity but smells a bit like a bakery scented lemon cleaner. I guess that would be an artificial lemon scent. Like artificial lemon extract. I really don't feel like it's a true-to-life lemon scent. I think I prefer Lemon Sugar. That's also a bakery scent but it's much more sweet and to me more enjoyable because it doesn't smell like lemon cleaner. As I said earlier this candle goes really good with Blueberry Muffin.come to think of it, my blueberry muffin I've never burned alone until last week. Last week I burned it alone and I noticed I didn't get much of a throw in it. I was really disappointed because I seem to remember before that I really enjoyed it and I thought it was pretty strong. Maybe it was this Lemon Zest that I was actually smelling. I have purchased a back up Blueberry Muffin jar (because I thought I loved it) and also have two Blueberry Scone jars(because I actually do love it) so I might just get an additional Lemon Zest one to go with those jars. But then again, my rule for purchasing dupes is that I have to love the scent, not just like it, and I really don't love this one. So I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe I'll wait until next year to see if it comes around again.
Throw - Is medium. I originally had it on the dresser in our bedroom but I couldn't smell it at all after several hours. I was very surprised by that as I remember being able to smell it in the living room when I burned it there last year, although it was light. I finally moved it to the table next to where I'm sitting in my bedroom and I can now smell it. I've been enjoying it but it's still pretty light. I think I go nose-blind for a little while and then if I leave the room and come back in, it's stronger.
Summary - out of all the lemon scents that Yankee makes it seems that people love this one the most. I have Meyer Lemon (got zero throw from that one when I first had it in a two wick tumbler and then was really stupid and bought another one because it was a glitch candle - now I can't decide if I'm to keep it and find out what a dud it is or if I'm going to return it for an exchange.) and Lemon Sugar (which was fabulous but also not a true-to-life lemon.) They also make Sicilian Lemon and Lemon and Lime. I've heard Sicilian Lemon is light and disappointing and that Lemon and Lime is one of the best fruity scents that Yankee makes. I hope to get that one one day, but I'm still undecided if I will get a back up of this Lemon Zest.

SAS and What I'm Burning This Summer
What? It's summer already??
I've been quite neglectful for the past six or eight months, I know. Working full time has been quite overwhelming since I'm away from home almost ten hours each day, five days a week. Work is stressful (I work with little kids, most of whom are special needs kiddos) but I love my school and have met some great people. During the school year I didn't have much time for shopping or burning and many nights I'd come home and barely had enough energy to push the switch to turn on my Scenterpiece or my wax warmer. Most of my burning happened on the weekends and even then it was sporadic because if I had errands on the weekends I couldn't light a jar until I got back. Many times I'd have a coupon at Yankee or a voucher to spend and something I wanted to pick up and I'd drive home thinking I should stop in (since the store is on my route home) but I ended up not having the energy and I'd just finish my drive home.
On top of all the business of work we had one old dog die (rest in peace Kirby) and we acquired a new puppy. She keeps us pretty busy. Here is Bailey;
All I wanted to do was stay home with my new puppy so I was SO ready for school to be out for the summer. I got really tired of forcing myself out of bed at 5:30 AM, I was tired of making lunches and then coming home and trying to dig up something for dinner and tired of doing things only for work and the house (shopping, laundry, cleaning) on the weekends and never having time for myself just to relax, play or read. So beginning the second week or so of the school year, I started my countdown to summer break. By the time I finally got there I was SO ready to start my ten weeks of vacation. I celebrated my first moments of freedom by stopping by the Yankee store to pick up my first SAS candles then I spent the first two weeks catching up on much needed sleep, cleaning and organizing and playing with the puppies. I also did lots of catching up with my Yankee Candle purchases because SAS started the same time school ended. So let the celebration begin! More sleep, lots of time to do my fun activities and burn my candles.
Side note: Over the past year or two I've been on a mission to hoard as many Yankee Candles as I could. Not because I have to have them but because I've learned how much I love them. When we first moved into our new house I had to pack and move boxes and boxes of heavy candles. I counted my collection at that time and it was at about 100 large and medium jars. Those were jars that I bought a few at a time each season but there were times when I didn't visit my candle store at all. It just wasn't a priority. So sad. I missed out on so many good candles. So now, I've made it my mission to purchase the ones I missed when they come back during SAS or as seasonal Treasures. I've basically trippled my stock and have about 300 candles by now. My husband would die. I thought I'd gotten just about every scent that I haven't yet purchased by now but then SAS happened and they brought back numerous candles that I'd never even heard of. Last SAS during the post Christmas season was a dismal dud. I only bought about five or 6 candles the whole month and that was mostly because Yankee put candles online and most of them were sold out within the first 24 hours and they never restocked them. They started at 21 pages of large jars and eventually dwindled down to 6 pages of large jars on their website in about five days. It really sucked. But this year has been different and they've been adding new (old) scents to their website every few days which keeps people interested and keeps them ordering. I myself have been to to the store two times and have ordered online twice. I didn't really keep track but I would guess I added 20-25 jars to my collection.
Here are a few of what I added - starting with the fruity ones.
Berry Colada. I love the label. It's so beautiful so I decided that I could love a berry scent just for it's label. It had a pretty good throw too. Normally I don't gravitate to the fruit flavored scents but as I've been picking up more of them I've learned to enjoyed them more. They didn't have any in the store when I bought my first set of jars so I had to order it online. I purchased it due to all the buzz going on about it. People were really excited to see it coming back. I'm so glad I did get it because it's got such a nice creamy-sweet raspberry scent. Even though it's got colada in the name, I don't pick up any pineapple notes. So far I've burned it once and its got a pretty good throw.
Mandarin Cranberry - I've been wanting to pick this one up since
last winter and I'm so glad I finally got my hands on it. It was a little slow to get going but after four or five hours it filled up the room with a nice orange cranberry glow. I was in and out this day so I didn't get to enjoy it much, but I did enjoy the fragrance of it whenever I went into my bedroom. This is one that you can burn anytime of year. It would be a good blending candle in the fall, Possibly mixed with a bakery or spicy scent.
Bahama Breeze - Pretty good. To me it smells like an interesting combo of pineapple and peach. I only burned it for a couple of hours so I will have to give it a longer go. Had a nice fruity throw in the bedroom. Doesn't have any coconut in it.
Margarita Time - Just "meh" for me. The store manager talked me into it. I wish I would have gotten something else. It's a bit to harsh on the lime scent. Kind of smells like some sort of cleaning product or one of those cheap air fresheners you put in old cars. Blech.
Juicy Watermelon- This one is perfect for a hot summer day. I didn't burn it long but I could smell it and I enjoyed it. I've always resisted buying watermelon scented candles but I'm glad I got this one. It's sweet and watermelon-y.
Kiwi Berries - Out of all the fruity ones I got, this one is my favorite. It smells so good in the jar - it smells just like kiwis and strawberries and a little bit of pineapple. I burned it twice but both times were in the living room where my candles must be super powerful or else I will be sitting there enjoying only the glow from the flame. True to form, I couldn't smell it unless I put my nose right above the flame. I've been meaning to give it a nice long go in the bedroom to see how it does. I will be so disappointed if it doesn't have any throw even in the bedroom because the cold sniff is so great,
Jelly Beans - I got this about half way through SAS when the Easter and Girl Scout candles went down to $7. How can I resist a $7 Yankee? I've been considering buying it for the past two seasons but there have always been other things that I wanted more, This year as soon as they hit that price point I hit the store because I knew they wouldn't last long at that price. Brought it home and lit it right away and man, the thing is juicy fruity jelly greatness! It smells like grape jelly, not something that I really enjoy smelling but it's so good. I will go back to the store one more time before SAS ends and if they still have them there, I will pick up another one because it's that good!.
In my next post I will discuss the rest of what I bought. There are several things that I'm so delighted that I was able to get my hands on and I can't wait to tell you about them! But this post is long enough!

Fall Favorites
I've been away for a while but I'm ready to get back into the candle blogging world!
Life has been a rapid pace this fall and between starting a new full time job and my daughter's hectic marching band schedule, I've found that I don't have as much time to burn my candles during the weekday evenings. My Scenterpiece come to the rescue! It is so easy to pop in a melt cup and within a few minutes I've got a wonderful throw that lasts for hours. No need to worry about developing a full pool on a candle or if it tunnels, I just pop in a new cup and hit the switch and I'm good to go for the evening. I hope to buy a new Scenterpiece for the bedroom but for now I've been making good use of my electric tart warmer during the weekday evenings.
Here in Texas we don't experience any cool weather until mid September. As a result, I refuse to burn my fall scents until October. To me, it makes no sense to start burning the cinnamon-pumpkin-berry scents when it's still 100 degrees outside so I usually hold off decorating for fall and burning my fall candles until the beginning of October. It's still warm then, but the mornings are finally starting to cool off and get crisp and pumpkin-everything shows up at the stores and coffee houses so the weekend before October 1, I change out my candles, I pull out my fall decorations and start enjoying my fall line up.
My all time Yankee fall scent is Autumn Wreath. It is a perfect mix of apples and spice without smelling like a traditional apple scented candle. It's got a nice edge of sweetness and toasty warmness that rounds off the apple and spice. I have enjoyed the same jar for the past couple of years and now I'm getting low on it. I've been meaning to buy a back-up jar for a while now but other new scents keep demanding that I buy them first! I hope to pick up another new jar during the next SAS which starts on December 26th. This label has a good strong throw and good reviews on the YC website. It's been a consistent favorite of Yankee fans for years, and I highly recommend this scent!
My new favorite this year is Apple Pumpkin. I had a jar from several years ago which I finished up and obviously had to replace it. I'm so glad I did because it's quickly becoming my runner-up favorite.
Other scents I've been enjoying this year are: Farmer's Market, Vanilla Bourbon, Harvest Welcome and Autumn Leaves. I've been trying to burn through some of my older jars so I can replace them so I've said goodbye to my large jar of the Yankee classics Harvest and Macintosh. I have another jar of Macintosh and have replaced the Harvest with a melt cup of the same scent. There are some scents that I enjoy but I don't burn them throughout the year and I don't burn them a lot during the holidays so it makes more sense to buy a melt cup or a tart instead of buying a full jar which takes up more space. Harvest is one of those scents. It's a very sweet, cinnamon based scent. I don't like pure cinnamon candles so I've enjoyed Harvest but it's taken me a long time to use it up.
This is another reason why I love my Scenterpiece so much. There are scents that you want to burn frequently and scents that you only want to enjoy occasionally. I can filter out the scents that I love so much that I want to have large jars of and scents that I think I will only occasionally want to enjoy so I only buy a melt cup. But I will admit that I have both jars and melt cups of my fall favorites of Autumn Leaves and Apple Pumpkin!
And even as I'm working through my favorite fall scents, I'm already planning on my holiday and winter scents. There are so many good ones that I'm excited about!

Witches' Ball
Last Satuday I had the pleasure of attending my very first Witches' Ball at my local store. I generally don't decorate with Witches and Skeletons in the fall but I prefer leaves and pumpkins so I had never been interested in attending this sales event because it centers around the Boney Bunch collectibles which I am not crazy about. But, I decided to go to this one because there were some things that interested me and just because I had never been and I thought it might be a fun experience.
I went in the early afternoon on Saturday and it was fun to see the store humming and buzzing with more customers than I had ever seen in it at one time. But I missed getting the one on personal attention that I usually get when I go in. It was just too busy for the employees to give a lot of personal attention to anyone shopping that day. I still enjoyed the experience and seeing the store decorated with the new Halloween items and came home with several fun items that I'm excited to add to my fall decorations.
I know I know I said I don't generally decorate with witches and skeletons but I couldn't resist buying the witch's hand jar holder. Last year they had a skeleton hand and I was never interested in buying it but I loved the witch hand and it was the first thing I selected when I arrived at the store. I had a buy-one-get one coupon so I chose the black Midsummer's night candle to go with it. I love the cologney scent of Midsummer's night so I decided it would make a good match with the hand of horror.
I also found two jack-o-lantern votive holder glasses with stems. I love vintage Halloween decorations so I thought these guys looked really cool and would make a nice addition to our mantle. I also caved and bought the jack-o-lantern Boney Bunch candy dish. It was only $10 and he's cute. Eventually I will put candy corn in him. Every year I buy a bag or two, so this little guy will be my designated candy corn holder.
With my buy-one-get-one coupon I also got a new large jar of Apple Pumpkin since I ran out last week. It's got nice marbling and some spots of oil on the top, so I think it will be a good one. I can't wait to start burning my fall candles! I would be burning them now but it's still almost 100 degrees out and it just doesn't feel like fall yet. I typically don't start burning them until October which is when the weather cools down to a comfortable temperature and the leaves start falling from the trees and it really starts feeling like fall. I get out my fall decorations at the beginning of October which marks the beginning of the holiday season for us. My daughter looks forward to it every year. Since I have more fall-ish decorations than halloween decorations, I leave everything up through Thanksgiving and the weekend after, I begin decorating for Christmas and that's when my Christmas burning season begins. The rest of the year anything goes, but in October and November I only burn fall scents and in December it's only holiday/Christmas scents.
Last fall we moved into a new house right before Halloween so I didn't have hardly any of my fall decorations up, but this year I have been working on a plan and I hope to add many new beautiful fall decorations throughout the house. The months of October through December are my favorite months because of the decorations, fun things to do and eat and because I know how much my kids appreciate the ways I try to make the holidays fun and memorable for them.
But while we are waiting for the fall burning season to officially begin, I have two mini reviews;
In the past week I have done two tarts in my electric tart warmer in an effort to decide if I want to invest in large jars of either one of them. I melted Candy Corn last weekend and found it to be nice, but a basic sweet vanilla scent. To me it didn't smell anything similar to real candy corn and it had a light throw so I opted not to buy a jar during the Witches' Ball sale.
Today I'm melting Pumpkin Ginger Bark and it is great! One of the store associates recently told me that PGB is last year's surprise winner for favorite fall scent. For some reason I wasn't interested in buying it last year but this year I think it might have to pick one up since I have never had a jar of this one. It's really nice. It has a good throw and is very strong on the ginger without smelling like gingerbread. Behind the ginger is a true pumpkin spice note and together they make a great combination. Eventually I will pick up a large jar. I'm hoping that there will be an accidental "glitch" sale online soon so I can stock up on some of the fall scents that I've been wanting to buy. I have plenty of fall scents but I'm sure I will be burning them a lot this year so I want to stock up. I have two scents that I want replacement jars of; Autumn Leaves and Autumn Wreath and I am thinking of getting a Sugar and Spice candle from the new fall line and maybe a Spiced Pumpkin candle. I never pay full retail price though. I always get them on sale using a coupon and sometimes stacking several different coupons when the system will accept it. Sometimes it happens and people are able to get jars for around $10 each. A lot of people think these are "glitches" that are accidents but I think that Yankee allows it to happen on purpose to boost sales and to get people to buy candles that they normally wouldn't just because of the frenzy it causes. The glitch sales always seem to happen during the weekend where there is a big sale going on and several coupons which have been offered at the same time. This weekend we've got a big Labor Day sale going on with free shipping and some other offers so I'm watching for news of a glitch going on.
However, I don't really need to buy anything else because just today I ordered two of these beauties;
New England Maple is a Deerfield exclusive candle. You can only get this candle at the flagship store in Deerfield, Massachusetts. They don't even sell them on the online site. Thankfully they have a great team who are willing to ship them to customers all over the country, so today I called the store and ordered two candles and used a buy one get one coupon and three $5 vouchers that I earned from being an avid Yankee Candle hoarder. Total I spent out of pocket for both candles was just $20, most of which was shipping. I'm ridiculously excited to get these special edition candles. They come in three different labels and I decided to get both of them in the Sugar Shack label. I think the fall leaves in the background portray the New England autumn perfectly. The reviews coming in on this candle have been good. Most say that this is a true maple scented candle without being a bakery scent like Maple Pancakes. I'm sure I will have more than a week to wait for my candle to arrive but I will surely light one of them the minute I take them out of the box! I think this will be a great specialty candle to add to my collection!

But while we are waiting for the fall burning season to officially begin, I have two mini reviews;
However, I don't really need to buy anything else because just today I ordered two of these beauties;

Saying Goodbye to Apple Pumpkin
After several days of not burning anything at all I'm finally home long enough to burn this old Apple Pumpkin and say goodbye to it.I should get at least one more full evening of burning, if not two, and then whatever wax I have left I will melt down to turn into tarts.
How do I do that you ask? I will tell you. Once a candle gets to the point where the wick doesn't burn any longer I take the jar and put it on a small mug hot plate that looks like this;

After the jar sits on the hot plate for an hour or so the wax will be fully melted and it will still have a strong throw. As much, if not more, than while it was burning with the flame. So you will have additional good-smellie-ness from your candle. You could very well continue enjoying your candle like this but I like to turn them into tarts. I use silicone cupcake liners and lay them out on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Make sure there is something underneath your cups because hardened wax is a mess to clean up off the counter. Pour about 1/4 inch of the melted wax into each silicone cup and let harden. Once the tarts have cooled they look almost like the real things produced by Yankee with the ridges around the edge. Sometimes I can get as many as half a dozen or more new wax melts by finishing off my old candle. So don't throw your candles away when they get to the bottom. Turn them into melts. I had never considered doing this until recently when I learned this tip online. This is also a good way to rescue a candle that has tunneled. I once bought a large jar on clearance from Kohls that was super cheap, as in, $5 cheap because the candle had been melted on it's side and the wick was pretty much non-existent. I bought it and when I got home I put it on my little hot plate and melted it down until I could fish out the wick. Once I found the wick I burned it until the whole thing had pooled across the top and I had a nice flat surface again. I was very pleased with the results and I loved getting a deal. I've never paid so little for a large jar before.
Today I went to the store because I had to have this;
I noticed they are all sold out online and that made me panic. I generally don't buy the fancy accessories because I'd rather spend the money on the candles themselves, but I took one look at this beautiful large jar sleeve and I fell in love. I've been delaying buying one because, well, I'd rather spend the money on the candles that I was planning on buying right then. I kept putting it off and I hoped a good sale on accessories would come up. Well, this weekend YC put out a coupon of $20 off $45 so I knew this was my chance. I started looking on the website and initially was going to order but alas, they were all sold out of everything they had in this line. I panicked and immediately called the store to see if they had one left and sure enough, there was one remaining so I had it put on hold. I went in this morning to pick up my little goodie and also got a large jar of Maple Pancakes which is a current fall treasure and a melt cup of Sugar and Spice which I've been wanting for a couple of weeks and one of Spiced Pumpkin. It smells just like pumpkin pie!
I am so excited because the manager of the store has invited me to come by to talk to her about maybe coming on part time. I just started working full time at a local early childhood school in my area as a paraprofessional. In fact, I've had only two full days of work so far. The same day I received a call to interview at this school I also received a call from the asst manage at the YC store and she asked if I was still interested in working for them. Ummmm, yeah. So finally I talked to the manager and I got the picture that she really wanted me to come on board as the assistant manager but now that I have this full time para job I am only able to work part time for now and can fill in more hours during the holidays and over the summer. I think she is desperate for a couple of helpers now so I am going to go talk to her on Monday afternoon to see if we can hammer out a plan. I'd really love to be her assistant manager, ultimately. So, we'll see how this goes and we'll see if I have the energy and stamina to work both jobs. I'm super excited. I've been trying to get a job at this store for several years. The old adage, "when it rains it pours" applies to both the negative and positive aspects of life. I love that my life is pouring things that I have wanted for a very long time.

Over the River
I love getting boxes in the mail! Except when my husband intercepts them. Lucky for me my mailman always arrives late in the afternoon or early evening after my husband has already come home from work. Today he was in the office and he heard the doorbell ring. In he comes lugging the box and said, "Its heavy, how many did you order?" I actually was pretty good I only had two large jars and two medium jars.
I've heard from several sources that Brandy Pear Tart is a big winner so I decided to order one. The one I received had rivulets of oil running around on top so I'm pretty sure that one will have a good throw like the other's have said.
I also got another Lake Sunset. That one is one of my all time favorites. Have I said that yet? I always like to have a back up... or two. Or three.
For the small jars I got two fall scents; Patchouli and Harvest Welcome. It's about time I've gotten a Patchouli. I did a tart of that one years and years ago and my husband thought it was disgusting and told me in three different ways how much he didn't like it. So every time I saw it at the store and every time I picked up a Witch's Brew I put it back down because I just couldn't rationalize buying a jar when 50% of us wouldn't like it. I finally bit the bullet this past sale. I will just have to burn it during the day when he's at work. My daughter (Miss M) loves it though and said it falls in the category of those fall scents that define her childhood and make her happy.
Harvest Welcome was a knee jerk reaction to a good sale price and a huge recommendation from several people on my YC Facebook group. I saw it offered for cheap online and decided to pick it up. It smells good so I know I will like it.
What am I burning today?
In the living room and kitchen I have had my scentcup of Crisp Morning Air going all day. This is at least the fourth time I've had it going for the entire day so I would say I have gotten at least 36 hours melt time out of one cup, maybe 48 if I've gone for twelve hours each time. It might smell a bit lighter but I really can't tell yet. I'm sure I will get another full melt out of it. Definitely worth the money.
Tonight I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I think I'm getting a cold, so I needed something calm and mellow. I finally chose Over The River. It's such a nice scent. Perfumey and cologney. I love them both. With a water note and maybe a bit of a lily note thrown in. I can't tell you how many times I picked up this candle and put it back down on the shelf instead of buying it because I felt the throw would be too weak. I finally took the plunge and picked up a medium jar during some sale this year and I'm so glad I did. It has a much better throw that I ever thought it would. The tart is good and the jar is good too. I usually light my candles on the table right next to my chair that I like to sit my hump in whenever I'm being lazy (most days) so I get the best throw when I'm right next to it. I've found that I just get frustrated when I'm sitting across the room from a lit candle so I've learned to sit right next to them. Sometimes they fill up the room, sometimes they don't. So I find that I'm generally happy if I can smell them from my chair at least. The first time I tried my medium jar I enjoyed it so much that I bought a large jar the next time I found it available online.
I kid you not when I say that I had the OTR lit ten minutes when my husband walked in with my box of new Yankees. *sigh* Tomorrow I will try the Patchouli (when my husband is at work) and the Brandy Pear Tart in the evening. I can't wait! I will review both tomorrow.

Beachwood
Tonight I'm having a good go at Beachwood.
All day I've been burning a two wick tumbler of Lake Sunset and I enjoyed every whiff of it. Two wick tumblers are good to burn if you don't have a lot of time. They pool quickly and they churn out a good deal of scent, whereas large jars take up to four hours to create a full pool and even more if you want a deep pool. I lit my two wick tumbler of Lake Sunset today because I love it's peaceful, sweet and powdery scent. Plus I thought I would have to blow it out after an hour or two this morning because I would finally be called to sign my contract for the school that I will be working at. No such luck, so I enjoyed it well into the late afternoon and finally blew it out before I left to take Miss M to her band practice.
When I got home I quickly switched gears to light Beachwood. I've had my eye on this candle for quite some time now and I finally decided that I should pick one up before they are no longer available. You can't get them in the YC store any more and they don't have them available online at the website either so I bought one with a coupon at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I was a bit hesitant to buy one because none of the candles on the shelf had any marbling or showed any signs of oils and the surface of the candle was quite dry. Sometimes you can run your finger across the top of the wax and it will get slicked up in the oils on the surface. I didn't find this to be the case with this candle. It was quite dry. I thought I might be getting one of those candles that had no throw at all. I'm glad I ended up getting it though because after several hours of burning, it's developed a really beautiful and deep pool and it has a wonderfully sweet, earthy and clean throw. It almost has a sweet laundry scent like Clean Cotton but much sweeter and more subtle. It fits in very nicely with the rest of the summer candles of 2015; Beach Holiday, Beachwalk, Windblown and Wild Sea Grass. Beachwood has a good throw. Much better than Beachwalk or Windblown. Wild Sea Grass is my favorite scent-wise but Beach Holiday has the strongest throw.
In about a month my summer burning will end and I will start focusing on my fall scented candles for October and November and then in December I will burn my Christmas candles. I can see pulling out my beachy candles in January to remember how much I have enjoyed burning them this summer.
