Fall Favorites

I've been away for a while but I'm ready to get back into the candle blogging world!

Life has been a rapid pace this fall and between starting a new full time job and my daughter's hectic marching band schedule, I've found that I don't have as much time to burn my candles during the weekday evenings.  My Scenterpiece come to the rescue!  It is so easy to pop in a melt cup and within a few minutes I've got a wonderful throw that lasts for hours.  No need to worry about developing a full pool on a candle or if it tunnels, I just pop in a new cup and hit the switch and I'm good to go for the evening.  I hope to buy a new Scenterpiece for the bedroom but for now I've been making good use of my electric tart warmer during the weekday evenings.

Here in Texas we don't experience any cool weather until mid September.  As a result, I refuse to burn my fall scents until October. To me, it makes no sense to start burning the cinnamon-pumpkin-berry scents when it's still 100 degrees outside so I usually hold off decorating for fall and burning my fall candles until the beginning of October.  It's still warm then, but the mornings are finally starting to cool off and get crisp and pumpkin-everything shows up at the stores and coffee houses so the weekend before October 1, I change out my candles, I pull out my fall decorations and start enjoying my fall line up.

My all time Yankee fall scent is Autumn Wreath.  It is a perfect mix of apples and spice without smelling like a traditional apple scented candle.  It's got a nice edge of sweetness and toasty warmness that rounds off the apple and spice. I have enjoyed the same jar for the past couple of years and now I'm getting low on it.  I've been meaning to buy a back-up jar for a while now but other new scents keep demanding that I buy them first! I hope to pick up another new jar during the next SAS which starts on December 26th. This label has a good strong throw and good reviews on the YC website.  It's been a consistent favorite of Yankee fans for years, and I highly recommend this scent!

My new favorite this year is Apple Pumpkin.  I had a jar from several years ago which I finished up and obviously had to replace it. I'm so glad I did because it's quickly becoming my runner-up favorite.

Other scents I've been enjoying this year are: Farmer's Market, Vanilla Bourbon, Harvest Welcome and Autumn Leaves.  I've been trying to burn through some of my older jars so I can replace them so I've said goodbye to my large jar of the Yankee classics Harvest and Macintosh.  I have another jar of Macintosh and have replaced the Harvest with a melt cup of the same scent. There are some scents that I enjoy but I don't burn them throughout the year and I don't burn them a lot during the holidays so it makes more sense to buy a melt cup or a tart instead of buying a full jar which takes up more space. Harvest is one of those scents. It's a very sweet, cinnamon based scent. I don't like pure cinnamon candles so I've enjoyed Harvest but it's taken me a long time to use it up.

This is another reason why I love my Scenterpiece so much.  There are scents that you want to burn frequently and scents that you only want to enjoy occasionally.  I can filter out the scents that I love so much that I want to have large jars of and scents that I think I will only occasionally want to enjoy so I only buy a melt cup.  But I will admit that I have both jars and melt cups of my fall favorites of Autumn Leaves and Apple Pumpkin!

And even as I'm working through my favorite fall scents, I'm already planning on my holiday and winter scents.  There are so many good ones that I'm excited about!
